Sushi is increasingly popular in Japan many years however it’s a pretty new and exotic food to Americans which leads to lots of widespread misconceptions surrounding it. I've come across all different kinds of ideas about sushi. For instance, some people think that all sushi is made with raw fish and that sushi is generally unsafe to eat. Of course, this is not true. On the other hand, I have talked to people who distinguished sushi as a sort of magical health food that is always low in calories and fat and high in nutritional content.

Therefore, I can consider sushi as healthy food to eat as well. What makes sushi healthy is the fish. Most of the fishes vary in different nutritional value however most of them are a good source of healthy proteins and beneficial omega-6 fatty acids.

Sushi is cooked vinegar rice which is normally topped along with other ingredients like fish or other seafood and put into rolls. Sliced raw fish is called sashimi and not similar from sushi. Makizushi is a sushi serve up rolled inside or around dried and pressed layer sheets of seaweeds or nori. Inarizushi are toppings stuffed into a small pouch of fried tofu. Chirashi-zushi are toppings served over a bowl of sushi rice.
